Who Can Apply?
Dilla University (DU) staff meeting the following criteria are encouraged to apply:
- Academic Level: 2
nd degree and above - Field of Study: Expertise in Economics, Agricultural Economics, or Agronomy
- Interest in Direct Marketing: A working interest in direct marketing or downstream
activities in agricultural value chains, with a commitment to share insights gained during
the workshop with the DU community - Practical Application: Ability to demonstrate the application of knowledge or skills
acquired during the workshop - Note: Female candidates are especially encouraged to apply
Application Requirements
Interested applicants should submit the following documents:
- A copy of credentials/proof of qualification for the degree
- A motivation letter
- A curriculum vitae
- A support letter from the candidate’s department
- A copy of a valid passport
- An institutional email for communication with the workshop organizers
How and When to Apply
All required documents should be emailed to ipcrp@du.edu.et, with a copy to rirp@du.edu.et,
Deadline for submission of the documents: November 8, 2024. 11:59 PM local time
Important Notes
- Any documents submitted after the deadline will not be considered for further evaluation
- Incomplete documents will not be considered for further evaluation
- Submitted documents will be reviewed by the RIRPD, and only shortlisted candidates will
be contacted for final selection. - Following nomination, the RIRPD will communicate participant details to the workshop
organizing institution. - The workshop organizers will provide a workshop agenda, registration form, and terms of
stay to the nominated DU staff. - Selected participants must pre-finance their round-trip economy class flight tickets
(arrival: January 20, 2025, at Munich Airport; departure: January 25, 2025, from Munich
Airport). - Flight tickets and visa fees will be reimbursed by the workshop organizers upon
submission of original invoices during the stay in Germany. Only economy class tickets
will be reimbursed. - Participants should schedule an appointment at the Embassy of Germany in Addis Ababa
at least two months prior to departure and provide a flight reservation during the
appointment.
Expectations from Nominated DU Staff
Participants are expected to:
- Actively engage in the workshop
- Interact effectively with fellow participants and organizers
- Promote Dilla University in various capacities
- Create opportunities for collaboration in education, research, and staff/student exchange
- Share lessons learned with the broader DU community upon return
- Develop a plan to apply the knowledge and skills gained in the workshop
